Skin Deep: Facial Favorites
Traveling anywhere, even to a different state can cause certain changes in your body. If you have sensitive skin like me, the smallest things can cause breakouts. Change of water, humidity, and even food have caused me to adjust my skincare routine slightly to avoid breaking out as badly. Although my skin has somewhat adjusted to my new environment, I wanted to share with you all some products that my face has absolutely been loving!
My mom has been using Nivea for years, and although I like to try new skincare products more often than I should, I always make my way back to Nivea as well. This moisturizer is extremely rich and feels great on the skin. Although a little thick, it absorbs quickly, doesn't clog pores, and doesn't leave my skin feeling oily whatsoever. Sometimes the London wind and cold dries my skin out if I don't properly moisturize, so Nivea is my go-to morning and night.
Tip: As I mentioned, this moisturizer is thick and rich, so a little bit goes a long way
Rose is used in an array of skincare products because it has so many beneficial properties. Rose Hip Oil is great for sensitive skin and contains essential fatty acids, as well as vitamins A, E, C, and B-carotene. While the oil shouldn't be applied directly to active acne, it does help reduce inflammation, acne scarring, and promote skin regeneration. I mix two drops with my moisturizer every morning and the result for me has been soft and supple radiant skin.
If you've scoured the internet for natural skincare remedies like I have, then you have most likely come across tea tree oil at some point. The essential oil is derived from the tea tree and used to treat a variety of sin conditions including inflammation, skin irritation and mild acne. This one fluid oz bottle is the perfect size for traveling, and when diluted and used as a spot treatment on pimples it works wonders!
Tip: Make sure to dilute tea tree oil before applying it to your face, as it is very strong and can burn your skin
While I lucked up on this facial brush at Tk Maxx, I did make sure to find and link an online dupe for you all! A facial brush is great for helping to exfoliate and remove dead skin. I use it with a mild scrub or my regular facial wash at the end of the day and it leaves my skin feeling refreshed and renewed. The great thing about this particular brush is that the bristles aren't too rough, so it helps to exfoliate rather than cause irritations which can result in breakouts.
Tip: Don't have an exfoliating brush? A simple soft bristle toothbrush is just as effective to use in the meantime!
If you are looking to switch up your skincare regimen or simply try some new products, I definitely recommend these, as they have become staples in my daily routine.
