Making Something Out of Nothing
After from living abroad for months in a city where there is something to do every hour of every day... it has been an adjustment being back home in Indiana. I have fallen into the trap of proclaiming that there is nothing to do here, and counting the days until my newfound job or career pulls me away. After some contemplation and a few too many wasted outfits, I decided that I was going to find fun things to do here, because life is what you make it. I could either make it boring, or make it fun and exciting. Regardless of if you live in London, NYC, or small town Indiana. There is always something to do, you just have to figure out what it is.
When in doubt, google it out. Type in a simple search for interesting things to do in your hometown or city of residence. You'd be surprised at what your city has to offer.
A glass of wine always sounds like a good idea, right? If you agree, consider attending a wine tasting in your area. Here in Indy, Chateau de Pique offers a variety of tasting packages that suit virtually any budget. My best friend and I spent almost two hours laughing and sampling 5 wines of our choice. You also get to have a glass to cap everything off, all for just $8. Chateau de Pique also has partnered up with Groupon, and offers several deals depending on how large your group is. Attending a wine tasting will have you leaving with a feeling of sophistication, especially if beforehand you didn't know very much about wine itself. It's a definitely a learning experience and will allow you to impress your friends next time you all are out and it's time to order drinks!
Another plus, is that the hostess was very knowledgeable about the various wines. She made the experience even more worthwhile because she knew exactly what to suggest.
Perhaps the one of my favorite things about wine tasting was picking out the outfit I was going to wear. When comfort must meet casual, I make a point to wear light and classic clothing.
