Summer: When Less Has to be More
Summer is that rare time of year when complex fashion takes a backseat, and minimalism flourishes. One cannot simply throw on some layers, boots, a hat, and head out the door. Winter elements allow for more expression with layering and accessories in general. From coats to sweaters, it's sometimes easier to put together a look when you have more options. In order to truly put together an eye catching ensemble in the heat, you must first recognize that you have significantly less to work with.
Although you might have less to work with in the summer time, there is beauty in the ease of being able to grab-n-go. This day I was summoned to a afternoon lunch at Canal Bistro, and it was refreshing to be able to just throw something light on and walk out the door.
When it comes to my summer accessories a bag is a must have, and lately I'm obsessed with small bags! Besides being cute, they force you to only carry the necessities. This tiny blue leather backpack that I thrifted recently leaves just enough room for my phone, wallet, keys, and camera. Just the necessities! As always I'm obsessed with my Zara sneakers, mostly because they are comfortable and go with literally everything!
