Pass the Plate: This Barcelona Meal Will Have You Salivating
From delicious desserts, to savory authentic entrées, the city of Barcelona has everything and more to offer in terms of good cuisine. For my weekend trip, I hit up a few restaurants around the breath taking city, but I had to try this Valencian rice dish that has ancient roots right on the spanish coast.
If you plan to go see the Sagrada Familia, you will most likely want to grab a good meal right afterwards. Witnessing such beauty can increase one's appetite, and luckily there are several authentic restaurants right around the corner from the beautiful basilica! Casa Angela offers outside seating with an excellent view of the Sagrada Familia. I opted for traditional seafood paella, which is an ancient Valencian dish specific to Spain. The rice dish is brought out hot in a shallow pan, adorned with mussels, shrimp, and artichokes! While this dish runs a little bit on the expensive side (16 euros), it can be split between two people and is definitely worth it! Toasted bread with tomato, olive oil, and sea salt, along with salt cod fritters both served as perfect starters, and a glass of red wine tied the entire meal together.
If you are looking for authentic Spanish cuisine, Casa Angela has just that. Not to mention good food and a killer view will have you feeling satisfied for the remainder of the evening.
