Letters from TC: Feeling 22!

Letters from TC: Feeling 22!

22! While I can’t say that it has a ring to it like twenty one did, I can say that I am happy to just be here. One of my goals for this year of life is to slow down and enjoy each moment as it happens. At times I find myself worrying about the future and the timeline I’ve created in my head. My thought process goes a little like this:

“I’m 22 now, and in three years I’ll be twenty-five. That’s half way to thirty and a quarter of my life assuming I live to one hundred. Five years from then I’ll be thirty, and at that point I should have a lot of things figured out, right?”

Dramatic, I know. My biggest fear is running out of time when it comes to doing everything that I want to, but in year 22 I am changing the way I view time. I will continue to do all that I can with what I have, but this year I will enjoy more of those organic everyday moments that we all take for granted. I will take more pictures, make more videos, and plan for the future as opposed to worrying about it.

Spring is the mid-west is confusing. So I gave myself a very fashionable pass to wear this turtle-neck from Forever 21 with these Chaps shorts. My reversible belt is from Marshall’s, and my shoes are from Aldo! This lovely leather bag was purchased …

Spring is the mid-west is confusing. So I gave myself a very fashionable pass to wear this turtle-neck from Forever 21 with these Chaps shorts. My reversible belt is from Marshall’s, and my shoes are from Aldo! This lovely leather bag was purchased from a market in London last year, and my glasses are thrifted.

As I get older I understand more clearly that life doesn’t start at a certain age. You decide when you want life to begin. I don’t think that I will turn 30 and magically have everything figured out, and I’m ok with that! For me, 22 will be a year full of style, confidence, risk, accomplishment, and love. I’m speaking it into existence right here, and I hope that you will incorporate the same principles into the life you live.

Thank you to those of you who have been with me on this writing journey. Toneclassic.org is now a little over two years old and as I sit in my bed this morning and type this post, I am content knowing that there are a few of you that read each and every article. Much love!
