When Summer Just Won't Let Go

When Summer Just Won't Let Go

It’s reached that time of year when it’s too hot to really wear anything at all, but since that’s not socially acceptable in the slightest, we have to get creative. In an earlier blog post I talked about summer layering, and making the most out of as little as possible. However, when it’s ninety degrees even that can be hard to do!

When it gets to this time of year a cropped lightweight pant is my go to! If you scroll through my instagram you’ll see me wearing a pair in almost every color you can think of.

Sometimes staying cool and comfortable requires throwing things together, and wearing them in unconventional ways. Lately I’ve found myself examining other fashionistas and style bloggers and admiring how they adhere to one specific aesthetic or pattern when it comes to their wardrobe. Sometimes I wish that I could adapt that same practice, but I’ve realized that it’s easier for me to just wing it. Truth be told, I have come up with some of my best looks from just winging it.

This is one of the few instances where my entire outfit is second hand or thrifted. I’m almost certain that for someone else these pants were pajamas, but here I tried to take them in more of a daytime leisure direction. My bag is from a vintage shop and is definitely attention grabbing due to it’s detail and treasure-box shape. I’ve had this straw hat for forever, and sunglasses and sandals are always a go to during the last days of summer. At this point in the game I’ve worn almost every summer ensemble in my closet, so creativity and improvisation is key.

How are you holding on to summer, or better yet, what are you wearing?
