Yourself: To be, or not to be?
Being a millennial, I am in a constant state of ambivalence about my array of identities, and which ones I allow others to see. If I decide to be my full self, some may say it's too much. However, if I decide to try and conform to what may be attractive to others, not only will I be miserable, but there will still be a sliver of people who just aren't satisfied.
The question then arises, is it possible to be yourself, too much?
For me, the answer is no, but for the majority, conforming is the better of the two choices. It's easy to fit in, and for some it may even be more comfortable, but for me it's as if I'm intentionally walking away from the person I know I'm supposed to be.
One of my most cherished forms of self expression is my wardrobe, and the clothes I pull out of it and put on everyday.
I wear this chunky blue sweater almost on an annual basis, and with yellow being my favorite color, I always try to find a way to incorporate it if I can, which is where the track pants come into play.
Sure, my clothes aren't always the most comfortable, and they don't always make the people around me feel the most comfortable, but who said they were supposed to?
The point?
Making the decision to undeniably be yourself will be uncomfortable at times, but legendary things never come out of comfort zones, and neither do legendary outfits.
