Taking the Risk Now, & Figuring the Rest out as You Go

Taking the Risk Now, & Figuring the Rest out as You Go

Sometimes I hesitate from doing or wearing certain things because I don't know how they will turn out.  If I can picture an outfit in my head, then I can easily style myself to match what I've already come up with in my mind.  A huge part of fashion is taking risks, and if you love clothes as much as I do then you've definitely made a purchase based off of an items uniqueness alone. Even though you may have no idea how and when you are going to wear it, you buy it anyway.  A true fashion connosseur.  One of my challenging wardrobe pieces for the past few years has oddly enough been this large knit hat.

Year after year I try it on, and year after year look in the mirror, laugh at myself, and take it off before I step foot outside the door.  This fall I decided that I was going to wear the hat, and that I was going to wear it well.  Though I had no idea what I would pair it with or if it would turn out looking ridiculous, I decided to go with it anyway.  Thankfully, I think the overall look came together very well, and the hat played a nice part in breaking up all of the denim.  After all, accessories do make the outfit, right?

Denim on denim is an all time favorite of mine, so my H&M jeans and shirt were a no brainer.  My denim vest is by members only, and my bag and belt are both from a local thrift store.  Watch by Citizen, boots by Asos, and my cozy high socks are from Target.  The infamous hat is from Marshall's!

This trend of not overthinking to the point where I talk myself out of doing something that could turn out well, is one that I am taking with me into the new year.

The item in your closet that you think people will hate?

Wear it.

The dream job that you think you don't meet the qualifications for?

Apply anyway.

Sometimes the best part of solving a puzzle is not having all of the pieces, but starting with the pieces you do have and watching the rest fall in place.

My parting words for this weeks post are to simply put on your hat, and get to work!
